Description
For 20 years (from 1663 to 1683), Henry du Mont directed the Music of the Chapel of the Sun King; he developed a new musical repertoire for the sovereign's daily mass consisting of grand choral motets and more intimate pieces for solo voices. The former aimed to transpose - as usual - the format of the great frescoes designed for extraordinary ceremonies; it is to these "grand motets" that Sébastien Daucé dedicates a renewed reading which, while connecting musical particularities and historical data, reveals all their beauties down to the smallest details!
