Humanicity

Description

A new album by Lee ‘Scratch' Perry, we’ve been waiting for it for a long time... Too long. And then there was E.R.M, a somewhat crazy dream and a lot of determination. A few riddims later, Lee Perry met E.R.M. and the beautiful story could begin. Produced at the "Studio Grenat," a recording studio located in Strasbourg, E.R.M. and its leader Olivier Gangloff aka Piment simply imagined a new album just for Lee Scratch Perry. Ten riddims in the purest tradition, with a hint of modernity to remind everyone that Lee Perry is here and that he hasn’t said his last word. Lee ‘Scratch' Perry, known as "the Father of reggae," discoverer of Bob Marley and many other figures of Jamaican reggae, fully invested himself in this album which allows him to reconnect with the great days of Black Ark Studio. Perry sings with the fervor of his early days, the melancholy of difficult moments, the humor of a rich and eventful life, and delivers a deep, human, and contemporary album - hence the evocative title: HUMANICITY.
