Violinist Scott Tixier has appeared on numerous recordings and albums, playing in Anthony Braxton's jazz opera, Trillium J. As a sideman with Kenny Barron, Jon Hendricks, Ornette Coleman, Natalie Cole, Christina Aguilera, John Legend, Gladys Knight, and touring for 2 years with Stevie Wonder, not to mention his work in film music alongside Robert De Niro, Harvey Keitel, Kevin Spacey, and Keanu Reeves (John Wick) and on American television. For the past 10 years, Tixier has been developing a new sound inspired by these collaborations both within and outside the jazz world, making him a multidimensional musician with a new voice for jazz violin. His journey has been extraordinary, a true cosmic adventure. To bring this recording to life, Tixier surrounded himself with the new rising stars of the New York scene, including Yvonnick Prene (harmonica), Glenn Zaleski (piano), Luques Curtis (bass), Justin Brown (drums), and special guests Pedrito Martinez (congas) and Chris Potter (saxophone). The album is produced by the legendary pianist Donald Brown, who was the artistic director and pianist for the Jazz Messengers alongside Art Blakey. The liner notes are written by violinist Jean Luc Ponty.
