From the depths of the rusty steel mills of Youngstown, Ohio, Colemine presents the highly anticipated reissue of Blast Furnace!, the melting debut of the Scone Cash Players. Adam Scone is the musician behind the screaming organ featured on all the gems of the Sugarman Three from Daptone such as "Sugar's Boogaloo," "Soul Donkey," "Pure Cane Sugar," and "What the World Needs Now." The album was recorded at the Dunham Street studio in Brooklyn, with his old comrades from the Dap-Kings, Thomas Brenneck, Eric Kalb, Homer Steinweiss, and Ian Hendrickson-Smith, the "Bliss Machine" behind Scone's groove. A very rare moment for these masters of music and taste, captured between two tours with Sharon Jones and Charles Bradley. Recorded in 3 days and distilled into 40 minutes of pure emotion, it’s a sad story, the story of the necessity to abandon one’s art for responsibilities.
