Description

Norway has been the birthplace of many innovative artists, and its music scene has been an exploratory playground for lovers of transcendental music. We are pleased to present a unique collaboration between two remarkable Norwegian artists, each representing two ends of an intriguing spectrum. (Anne Lise) Frokedal is a popular folk singer-songwriter whose mesmerizing voice has accompanied the music of several acclaimed bands over the past decade. She has also released 2 EPs and 3 solo albums, earning a Norwegian Grammy nomination with "Flora" (2021). This 10" sees each of these artists present a song from the other's back catalog, thus finding a transcendental common ground between the other's musical realm and their own sphere. Saver has put down their guitars to make way for clear vocals and bare synths that are an integral part of their sound. Propelled by deep drones and soft vocals, "Shot-Put" becomes even more fascinating, transforming the folk original into a haunting ambient rock opus. In turn, Frokedal lays bare the heart of "I, Vanish" in a gently swaying, magical, harmonic, yet mesmerizing folk rendition.
