Description

Plus than 25 years after releasing his first single ("Tears", now a cult classic) and collaborating with Frankie Knuckles, SATOSHI TOMIIE returns with his 2nd event album, "New Day" . In 25 years, he has released 12"s and remixes on the most prestigious House labels, ranging from Strictly Rhythm to Sony, toured with Ryuichi Sakamoto of Yellow Magic Orchestra, collaborated with Robert Owens, and been praised for his compilation released on the Renaissance label. In addition to being a cult producer, he is also an outstanding DJ. Coming from a traditional piano background (jazz and classical music), he has always been able to bring more depth to his compositions, compared to other producers more rooted in electronic music. On "New Day", he reinvents himself, producing fresh, sharp and inventive sounds, in a genre that today struggles to renew itself. On "the track that gives the album its name, he is joined on drums by John Schmersal, drummer for Caribou.
At this point in the album, the sound becomes deeper, more committed too. A blend of House and Jazz, "NEw Day" will delight his fans as well as newcomers who discover him in 2015.
