Discover "Lifeforce Unbound", the new album by Sarcasm, a Swedish blackened death metal band rooted in the 90s. Sarcasm stands out among Swedish death metal bands for its difficulty to be categorized. Labels like "Swedeath" or "Melodic Death Metal" do not do justice to their unique sound. The band has deliberately chosen to avoid the beaten path, embracing a broad spectrum of the metal genre while remaining resolutely extreme. The 8 tracks on this album showcase the band's musical quality and high-level production. Although the album opens with "Essence of Existence", a direct 4-minute track, the majority of the compositions seek a certain complexity. With an average duration of over 5 minutes per song, numerous structural variations and captivating elements follow one another, ensuring sustained interest throughout the listening experience. Mixed and mastered by the talented Lawrence Mackrory, Sarcasm is now a quartet, with Anders no longer participating in recordings due to time constraints, but remaining a member of the band for live shows. Since their return, only one former member, vocalist Heval Bozarslan, is still part of the team. Heval, who once again explores otherworldly themes, does not wish to be credited for the lyrics, claiming they were transmitted to him by a higher power, addressing 8 different subjects. Ethereal and metaphysical lyrics are not new for this band, but this time, they are less metaphorical. Indeed, doors open throughout the 40 minutes of this musical journey, revealing the many layers of atmosphere this band can achieve, which is simply remarkable.
