Sarah Fox presents a selection of Mozart concert arias, recorded with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León under the direction of Roberto Fores Veses, with Malcolm Martineau at the piano. Covering the full span of the composer’s career, the program includes Conservati fedele (K. 23), Per pietà, bell'idol mio (K. 78), Ch'io mi scordi di te? (K. 505) and Vado, ma dove? (K. 583). Written for specific singers and occasions, these works combine dramatic intensity and lyrical refinement, illustrating Mozart’s genius for expressive vocal writing and the richness of orchestral colors. This recording brings together Sarah Fox’s operatic experience and the orchestra’s distinctive sound in a thorough exploration of these highly refined concert pieces. Sarah Fox studied at Giggleswick School, the University of London and the Royal College of Music. A winner of the Kathleen Ferrier Award and the John Christie Award, among others, she is also an Honorary Fellow of Royal Holloway College, University of London.
