Seuls

Description

"Seuls" musically explores photographic spaces by taking various detours: classical music, jazz, film music, and traditional music. Four movements structure the work: "Doubles," "Troubles," "Dédoubles," and "Yalniz." "Doubles" takes as its subject the "Multiple Personality Disorder" (MPD). "Troubles" unfolds in the manner of a "Personality with Multiple Troubles" (PMT). "Dédoubles" considers the four musicians as "Troubled Multiple Personalities" (TMP). While the first three movements are conceptualized from a combination of three letters, MPD-PMT-TMP, it is to find a corollary at the musical level: the material presented in the first movement is thus sown throughout the other two, but takes on different meanings. Everything transforms... On stage, a giant screen reveals several photos by Laurent Thurin-Nal, serving as a scenographic space for the first three parts of the show. In the final movement, the audience experiences a true reversal of perception, thanks to the short film montage, "Yalniz." The public shifts the majority of its attention from the auditory sphere, a concert, to the visual sphere, a film concert, to construct its own film-novel.
