British vocalist, composer, and producer Sampha finally returns with his second album, six years after the sublime 'Process'.
While his debut album revealed an artist searching for his place in the world, engulfed by feelings of loss and grief, 'LAHAI' is marked by wonder at future possibilities and life itself. Drawing narrative threads from Afro-futurism and magical realism, 'LAHAI' is a journey between generations, sounds, eras, and places, exploring the multiple modes of connection that bind humans to one another.
After lending his pen and his inimitable voice to some of the greatest contemporary artists (including Kendrick Lamar, Stormzy, Solange, Frank Ocean, and Alicia Keys), Sampha here works with vocals in dreamlike soundscapes, weaving textures and languages to create the backdrop for 'LAHAI'.
The album features contributions from Yaeji, Lea Sen, Laura Groves, and El Guincho, to name just a few of the eminent artists in the 'LAHAI' cast.
