Samantha Fish was born on January 30, 1989, in Kansas City (Missouri) in the United States. As a teenager, while her older sister Amanda locks herself in her room to sing the blues, she locks herself in hers to play guitar. She is then influenced by rockers such as the Rolling Stones and Tom Petty or bluesmen such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Son House, and Skip James. She quickly masters her instrument, as well as singing, so much so that she begins to perform regularly on stage simply accompanied by a drummer and a bassist. It is with this formation, the Samantha Fish Blues Band, that she recorded her first self-produced album in 2009, which allowed her to be noticed by the German blues label Ruf Records. This label had her record in 2011 with two other blues singers the album Girls with Guitars, then under her own name the album Runaway. This album was noticed and allowed her to win the 2012 Blues Music Award for Best New Artist of the Year. In 2013, Samantha Fish recorded her second solo album, Black Wind Howlin’, in which she develops a moist and electric-saturated blues, then she released in October 2015 the album Wild Heart, with more intimate and "roots" accents than the previous one. Still based in Kansas City (Missouri), she continues to perform regularly on stage, either with her trio or with other artists, these recent collaborations having led to two new albums. She presents us here with her brand new album. The 5th to date at only 28 years old!
