How can one find a sense of beauty amidst fear and cruelty? How can one make the unspeakable audible, but also anger, hope, and the unwavering will to live? With his third album, Temple Of Hope, Iranian composer Saba Alizadeh has created a moving tribute to the people of his country. He transforms the events of the "Woman Life Freedom" movement, as well as the struggles of the population in previous years, into poignant electroacoustic music. The voices and lyrics of Andreas Spechtl, Sanam Maroufkhani, and Leila Rahimi intensify the whole. In his compositions, Saba Alizadeh combines the traditional string instrument Kamancheh with modular synthesizers. The result is a tense sound that explores speechlessness and emotions torn between suffering, rebellion, and hope. Historical radio sequences anchor his pieces in the country's culture and history.
