Ryan Wang, 17, the next winner of the International Frédéric Chopin Competition 2025? It was after Ryan Wang's triumphant recital, at just 16 years old, at the 14th Esprit du piano festival 2023, that his director Paul-Arnaud Péjouan decided to produce his first record under his eponymous label. With the same emotion, the jury of the upcoming Chopin Competition selected this very young pianist for the 2025 edition. It became evident to immortalize on record the musical testimony of the exceptional maturity of this young Canadian pianist, who continues to move audiences and win first prizes in the many competitions he enters since one of his first appearances on the stage of the legendary Carnegie Hall at the age of 5. Chopin is his favorite composer, which certainly contributes to the eloquence and conviction of this recording made in the Saint Léon Church in Anglet, an ideal acoustic setting for these two flagship works of Frédéric Chopin, the Andante Spianato and Grande Polonaise Brillante Op. 22, as well as the Preludes Op. 28.
