A return to form for Rush, who compose a melodic rock album on the concept of relationships between men and women (as the cover strongly suggests). The instrumental "Leave That Thing Alone," the dynamic "Animate," "Alien Shore," "Cold Fire," and "Sun and Moon" are all quite successful, but the highlight of the album is undoubtedly "Nobody's Hero," a sensitization to the issue of AIDS enhanced by both a superb orchestration and Alex Lifeson's acoustic guitar.
