Wainwright: Dream Requiem

Description

'Dream Requiem', Rufus Wainwright's new work, is a deeply emotional composition, written during the pandemic and inspired by Verdi's Requiem and Lord Byron's apocalyptic poem "Darkness". This monumental project, with narration by Meryl Streep, a living legend of cinema, and soprano Anna Prohaska, pays tribute to human loss and the challenges of our time, while exploring themes of solidarity and resilience. This recording, in its world premiere, features the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the Maîtrise de Radio France and the Choeur de Radio France under the direction of Mikko Franck.
