ROTTEN SOUND knows how to deliver a message. For over three decades, the Finnish grindcore veterans have been sounding the alarm about our cursed existence. Even though they escaped the announced apocalypse in their previous album, the band is far from stopping to catch its breath. Like an atomic bomb, ‘Mass Extinction’ explodes in a short but sustained burst. Across eight tracks spanning just under 10 minutes, ROTTEN SOUND's 11th EP tackles various political topics. And while our world leaders need to get their act together, the band's uncompromising grindcore is anything but bland. The first single, “Brave New World,” attacks mercilessly with a deluge of blast-beats guaranteed to make even the bravest crawl. Even the slightly more optimistic “Idealist” gives way to a most hostile groove.
