FEATHERWEIGHT

Description

After her 2021 album "Bloom," acclaimed by both the public and critics, Rosie Frater-Taylor returns with her third opus "Featherweight," scheduled for release on February 9th. It reveals a much grittier side of the young musician, both musically and visually. The album traces her personal journey since "Bloom": a love story, human relationships, asserting her strength through her own vulnerability… Written after her extensive international tour with her trio in 2022, "Featherweight" can be described as "modern indie jazz pop." Rosie's guitar accompaniment is highly creative and musical, combining with fresh and poignant lyrics. This album echoes an important legacy of artists ranging from PJ Harvey to Joni Mitchell and Kate Bush, as well as a more rock repertoire – where John Mayer, Meshell Ndegeocello, St Vincent, and Madison Cunningham hold sway… Rosie's second album, "Bloom" (2021), was nominated for Gilles Peterson's WorldWide Awards, named "Album of the Week" by Jazz FM, and featured on KCRW's "Albums of the Year" list. Bloom accumulated over 3 million streams, attracting the attention of major radio stations and tastemakers in the UK and the European Union. In 2022, Rosie performed over 60 concerts in Europe, including opening for singer Madison Cunningham. She also gave a memorable solo concert at the Barbican in London, as well as at Gilles Peterson's WorldWide Awards. "An artist I fell in love with, musically" - Gilles Peterson - BBC
