To celebrate the 50th anniversary of "The Dark Side Of The Moon," Roger Waters announces the release of his tribute to the original album, "The Dark Side Of The Moon Redux."
Waters states: "When we recorded the stripped-down songs from the Lockdown Sessions, the 50th anniversary of the release of 'The Dark Side Of The Moon' was on the horizon. It occurred to me that 'The Dark Side Of The Moon' might be a fitting candidate for a similar reworking, partly as a tribute to the original work, but also to readdress the political and emotional message of the entire album. I discussed it with Gus and Sean, and when we stopped laughing and shouting 'You must be ****ing mad,' we decided to do it. The result is really great and I can't wait for everyone to hear it. This is not about replacing the original, which is obviously irreplaceable. But it's a way for the seventy-nine-year-old man to look back at the fifty years gone by through the eyes of the twenty-nine-year-old man and say, to quote one of my poems about my father, 'We did our best, we kept his trust, our father would have been proud of us.' It's also a way for me to honor a recording that Nick, Rick, Dave, and I have every reason to be proud of.

Roger Waters left Pink Floyd in 1985 and is now one of the most popular solo artists in the world.
