Green Man

Description

Roger Clark Miller was a guitarist, singer, and co-leader of the influential post-punk band Mission of Burma. Their album "Vs." ranks 19th in POP MATTERS' list of the "50 Greatest Post-Punk Albums of All Time" and 24th in Rolling Stone's list of the "100 Greatest Punk Albums of All Time." A chapter is dedicated to them in the reference work of independent rock, "Our Band Could Be Your Life." Miller was ranked second among the nine essential post-punk guitarists by TONE REPORT. After Mission of Burma, he continued to develop his guitar playing, notably with his project "Dream Interpretations for Solo Electric Guitar Ensemble" and his current rock band, "Trinary System" (both on Cuneiform Records). His new album, "The Green Man," scheduled for late summer 2026 on Don Giovanni Records, marks a return to a more traditional songwriting style. As a singer-songwriter, he emphasizes lyrics, supported by his unique guitar style. Minimalist loops create the illusion of multiple musicians on stage and allow him to explore the guitar in his own way. A residual post-punk blends with psychedelia and an unusual use of words.
