Nominated for the Latin Grammy and winner of the Brazilian Music Awards, Rogê has become a central figure in the resurgence of Música Popular Brasileira (MPB). With a career spanning over twenty years, Rogê has released seven solo albums that have solidified his place in the contemporary Brazilian music scene. His work is characterized by a unique blend of traditional Brazilian rhythms and modern influences, making his sound fresh and timeless. In 2023, he released his first American album, Curyman, under the Diamond West Records label. Produced by Thomas Brenneck of the Budos Band, the album is a celebration of samba infused with messages of resilience and redemption. Curyman II is now being released. Building on the success of his debut in the United States, this album promises to offer even more vibrant samba rhythms and thought-provoking lyrics. Curyman II also marks a significant return of the legendary arranger Arthur Verocai, following their successful collaboration on Curyman. Together, they have once again drawn on their previous work, blending Verocai's complex, layered arrangements with Rogê's soulful melodies. This album continues their shared mission to honor the rich heritage of Brazilian music while exploring new creative frontiers.
