Known for his refined writing, Rocé is also appreciated for his surprising projects. After 4 French rap albums between 2002 and 2013, he compiled a collection of committed tracks from the 70s in French, Par les damné.e.s de la terre - des voix de lutte 1969-1988, voiced by artists from labor struggles and decolonization. Starting in July 2020, Rocé returned to the rap scene after a seven-year absence, releasing tracks spontaneously on platforms. He presented his EP Poings serrés in June 2021 and finally announced his new album Bitume. Bitume is a sincere and raw project, with tracks that speak of the battles to be fought and undeniably emphasize hope, with songs that raise a fist. It’s an album featuring Ol Kainry, Daddy Mory, and actor Slimane Dazi. However, Bitume does not arrive alone; the album Palmier, in a completely different style, will be released in spring 2024.
