Human Remains

Description

After Creatures of the Deep and Black Sarabande, Human Remains is the final installment of a trilogy of piano recordings by Robert Haigh for Unseen Worlds. The title, Human Remains, is initially inspired by a painting of the same name by Haigh, which evokes an ancient structure, resolute despite overwhelming forces. As a metaphor for our time, it could be interpreted as the fragility of the human species in the face of nature's unyielding dominance. Conversely, it could represent the persistence of the spirit and human ingenuity in the face of catastrophe and upheaval. The album lies between intimate portraits and monochromatic piano pieces, subtle electronic touches, and organic textures and sounds.
