After the success of For ever Fortune, Musique ancienne d'Écosse, François Lazarevitch continues his exploration of the so-called “Celtic” repertoires with a new program devoted to ancient Irish music. This repertoire of old airs from the 17th and 18th centuries is made up of dances, Gaelic songs and varied instrumental pieces: they tell stories of war, love, drink and tobacco, children, and bards. A great specialist in flutes and bagpipes, François Lazarevitch opens up new horizons of colors and sounds for us. For this, he surrounds himself with leading performers of early music (including the fabulous baroque violinist and fiddler David Greenberg) and invites the American tenor Robert Getchell, highly convincing as a singer reconnecting with his roots.
