Rooted in the lived experience of bodies and minds confronting the local and global weight of imperialism, the work also draws on the temporal logic of cinema and literature, where memory, anxiety, and anticipation coexist. Using voice and modular synthesis, Lowe conceives sound as a sculptural and cinematic force, fed by the altered memory of Chris Marker's Sans Soleil, the political disorientation of Peter Watkins's Punishment Park, and the procedural violence of Kafka's In the Penal Colony. Echoes of electroacoustic and contemporary classical traditions emerge through atmosphere rather than quotation, guiding the music through states of contemplation, terror, solemnity, and propulsion. The result is an intense sonic terrain that resists fixed meaning, evoking rupture and the possibility of transformation.
