He never stops. Since the beginning of his solo career, the enfant terrible of English pop has been on all fronts… musical ones. For the needs of this eighth album, he confirmed his collaboration with Stephen Duffy, a little-known genius and rare songwriter. Recorded in Los Angeles at Williams, Intensive Care is his tribute to the music of the 80s (the music of his youth) and owes almost everything to Louise, a song by Human League that served as his reference. Thus, several tracks on the album, such as Ghosts or Spread Your Wings, revolve around the same theme: former lovers who still love each other… against a backdrop of new wave. The shadow of Orange Juice or Prefab Sprout also looms over Intensive Care, an album that is certainly melancholic but bursts into life when the need arises (Tripping, A Place To Crash).
