The English term "THRIVE" evokes the inner strength needed to achieve fulfillment, the will to achieve positive evolution. This feeling guided the creation of this new album. It captures the essence of RIOPY's music, driven by a power that takes us on a journey to a world he envisioned as softer, serene, joyful, altruistic, and above all, more collective. His piano, his unique playing style, and his singular universe needed a new challenge to convey the musician's feelings. RIOPY found it by taking a few notes or themes from great classical composers, from Beethoven to Satie, Brahms, Chopin, Debussy... RIOPY deconstructs universally known sequences and reinterprets these masterpieces, making them his own with his rhythms and harmonies. And in this creative surge, RIOPY integrates strings into his music for the first time. The arrangements he wrote for a twenty-two-piece orchestra infuse the album with unprecedented collective power. With THRIVE, composer and pianist RIOPY doesn't just add one string to his bow, but an entire orchestra's worth.
