RINGWORM's new album 'Seeing Through Fire' has been released as a limited red-orange LP with red/magenta splatter. On very rare occasions, a band comes along that grabs hold and annihilates your ears with a combination of sounds so unique that you find yourself pulled out of the monotony of everyday music and firmly rooted in the realm of admiration. Ringworm, from Cleveland, Ohio, is no stranger to this concept and has been fascinating metalheads with its unorthodox melodies for more than 30 years. Recently signed to Nuclear Blast Records, the guys are set to release their 9th studio album: 'Seeing Through Fire'. "We wanted to take a slightly different approach and look from the previous records, it's a new era for us," explains singer and founder James Bulloch, also known as Human Furnace. "It's a bit of a return to our roots, you have those moments from time to time where you want to go back to your comfort zone, but at the same time you want to expand that comfort zone. On the production side, we definitely wanted something raw, rougher and much more sonically abrasive than the last albums. Vocally, it's the same approach on every record, my voice is just a hammer and every song feels like a nail to me. Although Human Furnace's monstrous voice earned its name for a reason, the band is often lumped in with a vast sea of hardcore acts, perhaps unfairly setting aside the complex melodies that completely recategorize Ringworm and set them apart from any specific genre. 'Seeing Through Fire' showcases these abundant complexities and places the band among the leading talents of modern metal.
