The solo project of the mysterious Niff Nawor, an artist from the deathrock and anarcho-punk scenes of California, Riki explores with this debut album a synth-pop universe that is both romantic, physical, and bold. Produced by Matia Simovich (INHALT), this work navigates between influences of italo disco, Neue Deutsche Welle, 80s new wave, and more pop references like Pat Benatar or Kate Bush. Eight tracks make up this record, where each song becomes an electro-pop declaration, balancing embraced nostalgia with a futuristic aesthetic. The single Napoleon stands out with a New York sensuality reinterpreted in a West Coast style, while Böse Lügen (Body Mix), sung in German, reveals a darker, introspective side that is still danceable.
