"Rock‘n‘Roll Hoochie Koo" is an immortal rock classic, just like the McCOYS hit "Hang On Sloopy." In both cases, it was American guitarist Rick Derringer who was behind them, but reducing his work to these two hits would be a serious mistake. Not only did he work with JOHNNY and EDGAR WINTER and release several successful albums himself (including 1973’s "All American Boy"), but he also achieved worldwide fame as a studio musician (Alice Cooper, Kiss, Steely Dan and many others). Later, he also played with DERRINGER, BOGERT & APPICE and with RINGO STARRS ALLSTAR BAND. Born in 1947, the musician is still active today. "Beyond The Universe" is an album of new recordings that sounds wonderfully warm and transparent, but also powerful and dynamic. What is special here is also that Rick Derringer even remembers his early days with the McCOYS and does not leave them out. A must for all rock fans!
