June 2018: a new album, "Saperlipopette," containing nine tracks of original creations by Richard Gotainer, the master of humorous songs, is certainly something rare that everyone should enjoy to the fullest!
Staying true to his taste for variety and surprise, he offers here once again a range of musical atmospheres and different subjects.
In the lyrics, which he has obviously signed all of, there are discussions of girls and guys, seduction, love, irreverence, exuberance, blasphemy (even!), sheep mentality, political correctness, and the French language, of which Gotainer is one of the fervent defenders.
On the music side – almost all composed by Michael Lapie who produced the album - we go from very 80’s electro (Les Moutons) to rock (Toujours tout droit, L’Affaire), from ballads (Ils se sont plu) to biguine or the more rustic "Saperlipopette" and "Un chat un chat" ...
And as he has always been an audio/video singer, which puts him more than ever in tune with his time, he has already produced three clips for new songs: "Les Moutons," "je te oins, tu me oins" and "Saperlipopette," all three directed by his son Léo Gotainer.
As for the album cover photo, if it is signed by the considerable Bernard Matussière, it is Tom, Richard's other son, who ensured the artistic direction.
The apples never fall far from the tree, it seems!
