Multi-instrumentalist and prolific composer for dance, theater, and cinema, René Aubry is a creator of unclassifiable sound universes, listened to and appreciated worldwide for over 40 years. An eminently solitary composer, he works alone from his tree-lined home studio: guitars, mandolin, strings, keyboards, percussion, machines—he plays everything and, as a freedom-loving researcher, creates music that exudes a recognizable originality and color. Since 2009, Magic Light Pictures has even entrusted him with the original music for their cult adaptations of Julia Donaldson's books (The Gruffalo, Stickman, Superworm, etc.) broadcast on Christmas Day on the BBC.
