Remind Me Tomorrow

Description

The grand return of one of the greatest American songwriters! The writing took place during Sharon's pregnancy, between her psychology classes and auditions for the series The OA. Amid the filming hours of the series, the project Remind Me Tomorrow was born. Off-screen, she had the opportunity to write her first soundtrack for the film Strange Weather by Katherine Dieckmann, as well as the song that closes Tig Notaro's show, Tig. The demos of Remind Me Tomorrow went through the hands of producer John Congleton, who created the arrangements. Using references from Van Etten - Suicide, Portishead, and Nick Cave's Skeleton Tree - the producer transformed the demo of Remind Me Tomorrow, helping to renew Van Etten's musical signature, making the album more energetic than minimal and meditative. The songs still resonate, the themes remain an honest and subtle approach to love and nostalgia, but Congleton has implanted new characteristics into Van Etten's sound.
