Description

Native of Switzerland, Regula Mühlemann studied at the Lucerne Conservatory under the authority of Barbara Locher. She has already been performing for some time on the great stages in Paris, Vienna, and Zurich and made her debut at the Salzburg Festival in the summer of 2012 with remarkable success. Her last concert at the Musée de la vie Romantique in Paris was particularly appreciated.
She is present alongside the Concentus Musicus of Vienna, the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the Arts Florissants in particular, and under the direction of the greatest conductors of today such as Simon Rattle and Yannik Nézet-Séguin. She has been seen on stage alongside Cecilia Bartoli and Thomas Hampson.
Her second album is dedicated to the character of Queen Cleopatra, who appears in no less than 80 operas from the 17th and 18th centuries, from Vivaldi to Handel, or from several other lesser-known composers.
Regula Mühlemann personally selected the most remarkable opera arias, including several notable rediscoveries, and records them here with the magnificent ensemble La Folia Barockorchester of Robin Peter Müller.
