Cream of the Crop 2026 - Vinyl

Description

With Cream of the Crop 2026, Irie Ites Records continues its annual collection, which has become a must-have event for the label since 2022. This new edition brings together a selection of the year’s most notable productions, spanning reggae roots, rub-a-dub, digital and sound system culture. The tracklisting brings several generations of artists into dialogue with Prince Alla, King Kong, Norrisman, Micah Shemaiah, Jah Mason, Anthony B, King Lorenzo, Chezidek, Lutan Fyah, Midnight Riders, Junior Dread and Linval Thompson & Big Red. Several tracks had already found their audience even before the compilation’s release: Chezidek with Down Down Down, Micah Shemaiah with Hell A Go Pop, and Jah Mason with Puff Puff Puff, while new tracks complete this edition. The vinyl offers 12 carefully selected vocal cuts. The CD and digital version extend the experience with 7 additional dub versions, in the pure Jamaican tradition of vocal & version. With nearly 700 productions to its name, Irie Ites Records has continued for more than twenty years to connect reggae foundations with the contemporary scene. Cream of the Crop 2026 is another demonstration of this: a compilation designed for reggae lovers, selectors, collectors and all those following the evolution of the Irie Ites sound. Available on LP, CD and digital.
