This remarkable 3 CD box set featuring 75 tracks presents the complete singles from 1954 to 1962 recorded by the inimitable Ray Charles, originally produced for the Atlantic and ABC-Paramount labels. While during the early sessions, almost all tracks were first released as singles, by the late 1950s, in the LP era, it became customary to select the biggest hits from albums, or even distinct "non-album" tracks, for single release. The five singles recorded for Atlantic in 1953 but released between 1954 and 1961 have been added here as a bonus. This collection includes timeless classics such as "Georgia on My Mind," "Hard Times," "What'd I Say," "Hit the Road, Jack," and "Drown in My Own Tears." 28 tracks from this set reached the top 20 of the Billboard R&B or Pop singles charts, with 7 climbing to the number one spot.
