Aprû´s having experienced a great number of successes in Germany with her previous albums, the young cellist Raphaela Gromes unveils her new album built around the music of Richard Strauss. She presents the very first world recording of an unpublished version of the sonata opus 6 for cello, of which the modified version will be the one known to all. The latter is also recorded in the album, allowing the listener to discover the truly different characters of these two pieces. Recorded with Julian Riem, she also presents interesting and subtle new arrangements for cello and piano of popular songs such as "Zueignung," "Die Nacht," "Cecilie," and the famous "Morgen." "I was so impressed while listening to the Gromes - Riem duo (...) what impressed me the most was the evident desire to communicate the work to their audience. It is their courageous curiosity and their energy that impressed me." — Yo-Yo Ma
