Description

It’s an organic album, entirely handmade, without loops or tricks, with guitars and vocals as weapons of massive creation. An opus that can be described as Rock without restraint, with sometimes dark lyrics but with a great sense of accuracy. To approach this album without prejudice, we will only mention a few tracks: Amours kamikazes; with a Gainsbourg-like aura, carried by sensual and stripped-down voices and guitars, speaks of all those addictions that try to fill our wounds. Encore et toujours; directly inspired by the film O'Brother; by the Coen brothers. Of course, existential questions come to disrupt their daily lives like anyone else: Va savoir; what tomorrow will bring. But their contagious energy quickly resurfaces with generous and groovy riffs and rhythms, as in ça fait mal, Léger et insouciant, Gourou; or Chargez, chargez which highlight the shadows of our egocentric society of solitude. We also find with pleasure their dance & funky derision in collaboration with Swedish DJ Läbbat for Christian, King of the néant; where despite the infinite void surrounding him, this DJ easily brings us to the dance floor. Among all these influences, we must not forget childhood, the creative pillar of every artist, which we find in Houlegate, a waltz of vacation memories, or in Comme tes parents, a humorous Pixies-style vision; of the generational struggle, shouted by the vocal duo Kty conasse / Raoul Petite whose chorus is nothing but a cry. Like an ode to eternal youth, the title of the new album by Raoul Petite pays tribute to their 40 years of existence. The band and its cult singer Christian Carton & Picard offer us 14 tracks where all their musical influences and experiences are expressed without any restrictions or self-censorship.
