Tim Armstrong (vocals, guitar), Matt Freeman (bass, vocals), Lars Frederiksen (vocals, guitar) and Branden Steineckert (drums) are back with their ninth studio album... Trouble Maker. Born in the midst of the economic crisis of the post-Reagan era in the San Francisco Bay, Rancid came to life when Armstrong and Freeman moved after the end of their first band Operation Ivy. Rancid thus took up the torch as a local band and immediately ignited the punk revival community, announcing many great things to come. After witnessing the "American Dream" deteriorate and become obsolete for their country, their community, and their city, Rancid decided to evoke its consequences through their songs. While their lyrics always elevate their identities in punk rock, their music incorporates horns, rockabilly bass lines, reggae rhythms, squeals, and distortion. Telling their personal vision of love stories gone wrong and heartbreak, Rancid builds a whole community around them. Over the last two decades, the members of Rancid have been able to realize their changing environment and have found a new place within it, while not losing their positions as individuals or as a band. For those who like: The Clash, Bad Religion, The Sex Pistols, NOFX, Social Distortion, Black Flag
