Paradoxically, those who might be slightly disappointed by the fifth studio album of the German sextet are its hardcore fans: indeed, "Rosenrot" is made up of half tracks that the band chose not to include in "Reise, Reise," their particularly groundbreaking previous album. Nevertheless, fans of heavy new metal (very "old school" but infused with electronics that revive its colors) will find satisfaction in "Rosenrot," which kicks off with energy ("Bensin"), features consistently muscular riffs ("Mann Gegen Mann"), and includes some surprises such as the presence of Sharleen Spiteri from Texas in "Stirb Nicht Vor Mir," or a rather unexpected brass section in the explicit "Ti Quiero Puta."
