Composer of great versatility, Ramin Djawadi was trained in a good school with Klaus Badelt in Germany and Hans Zimmer in Hollywood. His various scores for "Medal of Honor," "Iron Man," "Clash of the Titans," and "Prison Break" highlight his taste for grand orchestrations, while "Person of Interest" or, better yet, "Mr. Brooks," reveal more subtle themes. On the soundtrack of "Pacific Rim," he blended his orchestral excess with the thunderous guitar of Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine). Mastermind of the series "Game of Thrones" since the first season aired in 2011, the sound architect has earned his stripes thanks to the phenomenal success of the medieval fiction, followed by tens of millions of viewers around the world. Starting from a simple and repetitive theme, he fuels the saga with breathless motifs, sometimes epic or mysterious, mastering the codes of the genre and maintaining suspense even in the score. The palette of bucolic and descriptive sequences of the struggle for the Iron Throne flows, if not boldly, at least naturally with the digressions of the solo violin (for the most beautiful moments of the composition), the Gregorian-essence choirs, and the martial beat of the percussion (the easiest but always effective effect). The art of Ramin Djawadi in balancing orchestral amplitude and covering the characters with finesse is worth noting. In this beautiful demonstration, the featured theme performed by Sigur Ros, "The Rains of Castamere," adds a well-integrated Celtic and mystical touch to the whole.
