Waxwork Records is thrilled to release THE SUBSTANCE Original Motion Picture Score by Raffertie. The Substance is a body horror film from 2024 written and directed by Coralie Fargeat. The film stars Demi Moore, Margaret Qualley, and Dennis Quaid. Its plot follows a fading celebrity who decides to use a black market drug, a cell-replicating substance that temporarily creates a younger and better version of herself, unknowingly giving her horrific side effects. The Substance was selected to compete for the Palme d'Or at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, where it received a 13-minute standing ovation. Benjamin Stefanski, better known by his recording alias Raffertie, is a British composer and producer. A classically trained multi-instrumentalist, he studied classical and contemporary music composition at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. He first gained acclaim for his experimental electronic recordings. His electronic dexterity and sensitivity to classic songwriting have allowed him to make a name for himself and seek the enigmatic and emotional sound he has developed throughout his work as a film and television composer.
