Desafinado - Sondra - Nuages - I Should Care - My Little Suede Shoes - Saudade da Bahia - Oscarnova - Midnight in Moscow - I'll Remember April - Barbados "Bossa Nova is not a style but simply a way of playing, just as Afro-Cuban bop by Gillespie and Machito was years ago. It therefore has nothing to do with jazz styles such as Be-Bop, Cool Jazz, West Coast, or Hard Bop; it's just a way of accompanying. It's derived from Samba and originated in Brazil during guitarist Charlie Bird's stay, who was the first to adapt it to Jazz themes. Many American musicians, including Gillespie, Getz, and Brubeck, have already recorded some Bossa Nova albums; we too wanted to follow the trend by adapting this rhythm to famous themes ("Barbados" and "My Little Suede Shoes" by Parker, "I Should Care", "Nuages", "I'll Remember April"), and by performing so-called Bossa Nova songs ("Desafinado" and "Saudade Da Bahia") and writing two original themes ("Sondra" and "Oscarnova") created during the making of this album." - Gianni Basso and Oscar Valdambrini
