The creative breath of the Quatuor Zahir!It is at the blue hour, suspended between day and night, that the four saxophonists of the Quatuor Zahir set the stage for this second recording, which brings together the emblematic composers of 20th-century France and their masterpieces. The Pavane and the Trois Chansons by Ravel, the Trois Pièces by Nadia Boulanger, the Chemins de l’amour by Poulenc, the Petite Suite, and the Rêverie by Debussy take on, in these arrangements for saxophone quartet, the warm timbres of the instruments, revealing new colors. In echo, two creations respond to them: the Petite Suite by Graciane Finzi and Les Lunes galantes by Fabien Waksman, conceived as a fifth movement to Debussy's Petite Suite. By opening this new chapter of its musical imagination, the Quatuor Zahir reaffirms its commitment to creation, its virtuosity as well, but above all the singularity of a musical identity unique in its kind.
