The greatest French quartet of today presents its new album dedicated to a SACRED MONSTER of chamber music: Schubert's quintet for 2 cellos, made famous by its 15-minute 2nd movement, a moment of eternity where the painful song of the divine Schubert exhales in phrases of unmatched emotion, reinforced by the unison of the 2 cellos. The new violist of the quartet, Adrien Boisseau, was named this year as Revelation at the Victoires de la Musique Classique. And it is Gautier Capuçon who comes to strengthen the Quatuor Ebène in this recording of absolute beauty. In addition, the great baritone Matthias Goerne sings 5 Lieder with quartet and double bass, all in the same tragic color as the Quintet. A very great record united by an exceptional collective, which will be supported by a partnership with France Musique.
