'ROUND MIDNIGHT': AN ODE TO THE NIGHT BY THE QUATUOR EBÈNE. After the great Beethovenian outbursts, here is the Quatuor Ebène, joined by Antoine Tamestit on viola and Nicolas Altstaedt on cello, embarking on a nocturnal journey, this apparent state of suspension so inspiring, both for the composer and the listener. This nocturnal inspiration, which has given rise to so many works in music, painting, or literature, nourishes the program of this disc concocted by the Quatuor Ébène - and even, in part, written by one of its members: the cellist Raphaël Merlin has imagined the fresco 'Night Bridge' creating an ideal bridge between 'Ainsi la nuit' by Dutilleux and 'La Nuit transfigurée' ('Verklärte Nacht') by Schoenberg, two true masterpieces of the 20th century.
