Quatuor Diogenes

Intégrale des quatuors à cordes Box Set

Description

Over the past few years, the Quatuor Diogenes has embarked on recording the complete string quartets of Franz Schubert. A very fine initiative compiled in the box set presented here. Covering his entire creative period, these quartets develop the different styles of the Austrian composer. Firmly rooted in the Viennese classical style, the early quartets are charmingly written, fresh, tinged with lyricism and full of wit. Rosamunde, Death and the Maiden or the String Quartet in G major speak a deeper, more dramatic, sometimes darker language, where pain and despair are intertwined. Universally praised by critics, the German ensemble delivers an authentic, highly expressive and emotionally powerful interpretation.
