Public Image Ltd (PiL) announces the release of their 10th studio album, What The World Needs Now., on September 4 - an 11-track album following This Is PiL, released in 2012, the band’s first album in 17 years. “Double Trouble,” which opens the album, is a real statement of intent, and will be released as a single on August 21 (accompanied by the track “Betty Page” and a bonus “Turkey Tits”). Widely regarded as one of the most innovative and influential bands, PiL has more than once reached the top of the UK charts. With a changing line-up and a unique sound, John Lydon has guided the band since their beginnings, from First Issue in 1978 to That What Is Not in 1992. After a 17-year hiatus, John Lydon relaunched PiL in 2009 with a world tour. Last year, the band returned to Steve Winwood’s Wincraft studio in the Cotswolds to record this new album.
