Created in 2017, PRINCESSES LEYA was born from the meeting between Antoine Schoumsky (who has notably appeared with the Golden Moustache and Studio Bagel collectives, is a screenwriter, and whose voice should be familiar if you’re a fan of the French dub) and Dedo (who marked an entire generation with “L'Histoire racontée par des chaussettes” and who, after passing through the Jamel Comedy Club, performs stand-up all over France). Both metal fans, and looking to mix this shared culture with humor, they teamed up to form an antagonistic duo: Dedo embodies the real clichés of metal (yes, there are some) and Antoine the clichés spread by non-initiates who don’t know any better. This new album, titled BIG BANG THERAPY, is a cheeky nod to the current escalation of superhero movies: in the previous opus, the Princesses had to save a dimension filled with idiots in order to return to their Earth. This time, the Princesses don’t have to save ONE dimension but ALL dimensions! How? With metal of course, and for the survival of their Earth. Narrative escalation? Obviously! But this time, less sketch and more music. No more covers! Only compositions straight from their guts. Basically, the Princesses have just finished with acne, and these overgrown teenagers are determined to become immature adults.
