Thanks to the recent discovery of unreleased tapes in the basement of Andrew Inne, a member of the band, Primal Scream will release on October 12, 2018, the studio recordings of the tracks that were supposed to be on the album as the band originally envisioned it.
"Give Out But Don’t Give Up" never actually saw the light of day in this initial form because the label at the time did not approve this first version made under the guidance of Tom Dowd, a famous American producer known for his work with artists like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Brothers, Eric Clapton, Otis Redding, The Coasters, Aretha Franklin, etc. A specialist in "Southern soul" sound that the band was looking for.
Primal Scream therefore returned to the studio to remix and re-record additional tracks that ultimately became the 1994 album "Give Out But Don’t Give Up".
The recordings offered here are therefore all completely unreleased. CD1 features the album as Primal Scream had envisioned it from the start, while CD2 consists of outtakes from these 1993 sessions.
