The production duo Potatohead People (a.k.a. Nick Wisdom & AstroLogical) from Vancouver makes their long-awaited return to Bastard Jazz with their fourth album, Eat Your Heart Out. Building on the production sensibilities that made them known, the album allows the duo to step out of the shadows and take center stage as singers, songwriters, and musicians. The album showcases the growth of Nick & Astro as they explore new sonic palettes, but what’s even more exciting is the wide range of talents featured on the album. It includes Redman, the hip-hop legend, Shafiq Husayn, a legend of the Los Angeles beat scene (Anderson Paak, Jill Scott, Bilal, Sa-Ra), the young Norwegian hip-hop prodigy Ivan Ave, Diamond Cafe, Abstract Rude & T3 (from Slum Village), and Kapok. Also featured are Frank Nitt (Frank N Dank), a frequent collaborator of J Dilla, rising R&B singer Kendra Dias, Canadian legend Moka Only, and Midwest soul funk artist Reggie B.
